This month, the New York Jiu Jitsu School offers a free rape-prevention class for women and a free trial class in the Young Samurai program for kids ages 3-12. The rape-prevention class teaches basic standup and group defense on Aug. 20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The trial kids class includes games and drills for physical and mental conditioning in this martial art. 577 Broadway, second floor (between Houston and Prince Sts.).
