PTK

Pekiti Tirsia Kali is a Filipino combat art, founded in 1897 by the Tortal family. The primary weapons of Pekiti Tirsia Kali are the short sword (Ginunting), knives, daggers, and also includes an empty hand component. Although these weapons are very specific, the techniques of PTK are adaptable to everyday items such as umbrellas, newspapers, pencils and pens.  The Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system is comprised of techniques for every range of combat, but is primarily a close-quarter combat system. Pekiti-Tirsia is about quartering the opponent, emphasizing destruction with counter offense while not getting hit. The Pekiti-Tirsia methodology originates from offensive and counter-offensive principles against attacks from all ranges, angles and threat levels. There is less emphasis on purely defensive techniques per se, as this is not seen as an effective survival strategy.
